• since 2015: Assistant Professor of Education with a specialisation in Media Education at the Institute of Educational Science at the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz (Institut für Erziehungswissenschaft der Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz)
• 2012: Doctor of Philosophy at the University of Mainz. Dissertation entitled: "Väter und das Vorlesen. Eine Analyse der Deutungsmuster von Vätern in Bezug auf Vorlesesituationen mit ihrem Kind" (“Fathers and Reading Aloud. Analysing Fathers’ Interpretation Patterns in Reading Aloud Situations with their Children”), published by VS-Verlag, supervised by: Prof. Dr. Stefan Aufenanger
• prior to 2008: Studies at the University of Mainz including studies abroad in Tokyo and Shanghai; MA in education science, German and comparative linguistics
