An analysis of existing CMS for creating websites and Web apps for schools
Every school wants to present itself, its school community, and the work they do on the Web. Most schools have similar requirements for both external websites and internal communications. However, the administration and maintenance of websites for individual schools is very time consuming and costly. Content management systems (CMS), which have now become the standard for the convenient and efficient maintenance of business and personal websites, could help to solve this issue.
This project will evaluate existing CMS in view of the typical needs and requirements of Frankfurt schools. Additionally, the CMS can be adapted to fulfil the requirements of schools. For example, functions can be added, new templates created, or additional services determined and added.
The project will be carried out in cooperation with the city of Frankfurt from September 2014 to August 2018.
