Development of a school cloud concept for Frankfurt schools
The aim of the project is to develop an exchange platform for schools that fulfils both teaching requirements and school security standards. This does not necessarily mean that a completely new concept must be developed. Instead, the project aims to evaluate existing applications, platforms, and concepts that have been tested in other settings, and to test and, where necessary, adapt them for use in schools and school networks.
A cloud that focuses on the needs of schools should work not only within a contained school network but also outside of the school and it should be as easy to use as possible. The school (security) requirements for data protection defined by the education authority are essential criteria for evaluating existing cloud concepts. In addition, the didactic implementation and the usability of school clouds need to be improved.
The project will be carried out in cooperation with the city of Frankfurt from September 2014 to August 2018.
